ADDRESSING MY COLLABORATION WITH ALMA

Dear Alma x Jack Irving Community.

I want to address the situation regarding my working relationship with Alma. I have been wanting to speak out for a while but have been unable to up until now.

I want to start by saying how deeply sorry that the community has been left in the dark for so long with no information and I'm very embarrassed this has been the case when there was such a huge interest in the project and everyone was so invested in my work.

Following the FTX meltdown at the end of last year, Alma's funding quickly dried up. The team was scaled back, and tried to bring the project back on track with minimal funding, but despite repeated promises to me and to the team that funding was forthcoming, the necessary funds never materialised. It became clear to me last week that they couldn't deliver on what was originally agreed therefore I terminated my contract with them.

Due to many staff cuts, their Twitter and all communication went quiet, leaving collectors of the project in the dark which was completely unacceptable.

This breakdown in communication on Alma's side has led to me being on the receiving end of some really threatening messages attacking me on every social media platform as I am the main public facing entity of the project.

Upon this happening I asked that a statement be released on Twitter informing everyone what was going on and for accountability to be taken on their behalf to stop the online trolling being aimed towards myself. I still haven't heard back from them hence why I'm independently sharing my statement now.

I think it's important to point out that despite what was agreed I have received no payment of any kind for my involvement in the project despite them exploiting my intellectual property.

I really want to make things right as although I am not to blame for what has happened in this situation my name is still associated with it so I want to do everything I can to clear my name and to also show respect to the huge community who has been so invested in my work.

I plan on taking the project forward independently and delivering on the roadmap as originally promised and releasing other projects in the future. I will of course make sure that any one who has collected the Alma project is properly rewarded at every stage along this journey.

I would ask for your patience during this process as I'm relatively new to the Web3 space so doing things on my own may take longer but I'm adamant to deliver what was promised.

I'm really sorry this situation has happened and If I knew this would have been the case from the start I would never have got involved.

I want to thank all the collectors for being so invested and enthusiastic about my work and I'm really sorry things have turned out the way they have. I really hope this gives an insight to what has been going on as it's been hanging over me for the past 7 weeks and has been incredibly frustrating not being able to speak out whilst being on the receiving end of so much hate.

It's also been incredibly hard to see my reputation tarnished when I haven't done anything wrong as I believe collectors deserve full transparency when investing in any project.

As I don't have access to the Alma twitter I would ask that this statement is shared between the community of collectors to spread the word of what is going on.

I will do everything in my power to make this right.

I hope you continue this journey with me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my side of the story.

Much love

Jack
